While the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth.

I hope you all have a happy New Year.
I have just been watching all the advertisements around at the moment, seeing how they lead people and manufacture want. Here are my thoughts on that.
This rose will be taken out
Placed there again
For that girl who loved humanity
Until death
Stole her too soon
She will always be remembered
For her love and her truth
Which will
Stand as steel against injustice
With nothing but pure love.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, isn’t it?
Do we really remember the meaning of Christmas at all? Has the tinsel and the wrapping removed the real feeling of Christmas. Some will have a Christmas to remember. Some will have a Christmas they will never forget.
It’s hard to forget you live in a cardboard box with a rag blanket to cover you against the rain and cutting wind.
Its difficult to be the mother or father bringing up your child alone on a zero hours contract, wondering if you can make it through the next month.
It’s hard to be alone when all the company you have is a voice on the television. When no one knows if you are dead or alive because you became a ghost to others years ago.
The holiday is supposed to mark the birth of Christ, one of many who tried to show us what love and caring really was. When he saw injustice, from the stoning of prostitues, tax collectors and so on. He did not stay silent, he spoke and he raged!
Why can’t we do likewise?
So give those in need a hand and help them. Spare what you can to someone living on the street. Give a kind word and a smile to those who are alone. Hold our governments to account for injustices that take place at their hand.
Perhaps then we can truly call Christmas a time to remember instead of something to dread.
Merry Christmas and hopefully next year will be much, much brighter.
Sharon.
I’ve kept hearing this voice over the past few days. I didn’t think the time was right to do this one, but the person was quite persistent and insistent. It was Amy Winehouse.
This is an odd one for me, it can be quite chaotic, sometimes emotional, sometimes cheery. Have a listen.
I was just thinking about community in this modern world.
A little chat with John Lennon.
I’m a bit of a news junkie and watching it makes you wonder, what the hell is going on? Here are my thoughts on society, the hierarchy and the top of the ladder.
I did a channelling session and ended up speaking with Jim Morrison from The Doors. Have a listen.
I spent some time this week, thinking about Banksy, art and freedom. Have a listen.
